Things to know before you make your USCIS Infopass appointment

USCIS always strives to deliver quality service to its customers, when they are making use of its help. It has the great responsibility of providing immigration related services, not only to those in the United States, but also to a variety of people from all over the world. It has to make sure that it offers services that will make the immigration process of foreign nationals, an easy and a comfortable one.
The toll free Customer Service line of the USICS is open to every applicant who needs assistance in immigration processes. This service is rendered both in English and Spanish. There is also a separate service for the hearing impaired. Another Customer support initiative is the USCIS Infopass system. This allows the applicants to have a direct, one-on-one interaction with an Immigration officer so as to get their problems cleared.
This Infopass system may sound to be a very simple process, but before you ever face the need to make an appointment, it is essential that you get to know about the entire process.
Things to know before making your USCIS Infopass appointment
The Infopass facility can be accessed by logging on to the USCIS website. The left hand top corner of the site will have the link to this. Make sure that you have a safe and reliable browser that loads up quickly, before you start making your appointment.
  1. USCIS Infopass facility is available in twelve languages, English being on the top of the list. You can choose whichever language that is the most comfortable one for you.
  2. Using this link, you can make an appointment or even cancel one that has already been made. You can reschedule for another convenient day if you are cancelling the Infopass. The identification numbers that are printed on your confirmation notice will be needed to reschedule an appointment. There will be no penalty fee for this cancellation and rescheduling.
  3. You can use this facility only if you want to talk to an Immigration officer regarding your case. You may have problems that you feel can be best solved only by a trained Immigration officer, in that case, the USCIS Infopass system is the best solution.
  4. Do not use this facility for obtaining general information about the US immigration and citizenship process, your application status, employment authorization etc.
How to make an Infopass appointment
Once you are inside the Infopass section on the site, you need to click on ‘Make an appointment’. You will be prompted to enter the zip code of your area so that the USCIS can schedule an appointment at the Field Office in your area. Enter in all the personal details about you as prompted and select the convenient date for scheduling your appointment. If everything has been completed perfectly, then your computer screen will have the details regarding the date, time and location of your USCIS Infopass.
Remember: Save this information and take a print out of the snap-shot of this screen. You should compulsorily have a hard copy of this proof when you are going in for your Infopass appointment.
Since you are making an Infopass appointment to find out a solution to your immigration problems, make sure to take all documents that will substantiate your case. This will help the Immigration officer to quickly understand your needs and resolve your problem.
